Usually, yes. Broken springs, snapped cables, dead openers and doors that jumped their track are the jobs we try to finish the day you call, and the lines at all three locations are answered around the clock. A door stuck open after dark gets an emergency visit.
Spring replacement starts from $150 per spring, cable replacement from $150 per cable, a set of rollers from $120 and track or off-track work from $150 per door. Opener and panel jobs are priced on site because the brand, model and color decide them. The diagnostic visit is $0 when you go ahead with the repair, and every figure is on the pricing page.
Leave it shut and unplug the opener. With the spring gone, the motor or your arms would be carrying the full weight of the door, which is how gears strip and people get hurt. Book a spring replacement instead; on doors with two springs we change both so they wear evenly.
Most often it is the two safety eyes near the floor: a dirty lens, a bumped bracket or a wire soaked in the last storm. If wiping the lenses and lining the lights back up does not cure it, an opener repair visit checks the sensors, the close force and the travel limits.
For most homes here, yes. Summer storms and hurricane season are when the power drops, and a backup battery lets the opener raise and lower the door several times with the grid down. We can tell you whether your opener accepts one or whether a newer unit makes more sense.
Not always. When the door model and color are still made, the damaged section can often be swapped on its own and the rest of the door stays put. We check the hinges and struts around the dent as well, since a bent section can twist its neighbors. More on panel replacement.
Please do not push it or run the opener. An off-track door hangs on cables under tension and can drop or swing without warning. Unplug the opener, keep cars and kids clear, and book an off-track repair; we re-seat the rollers, straighten or replace the rail and check both cables.
Often it is. Worn or rusted rollers rumble and make the whole door shake, and a set that has lost its bearings can wear a groove into the rail. Roller replacement starts from $120 per set; if the rail itself is bent, track repair starts from $150.
